Haltechs work very well. I was under the impression you can't datalog with a Wolf is that correct?
With a Haltech you can log 10-20 times a second all the sensor readings, injector mS,RPM, etc. Don't know why you would but a Wolf instead of a Haltech? But I guess the Wolf is a cheaper style unit.

fil,
I don't see any reason why the megasquirt would not work ok in fuel only. Not sure about the newer one haven't really checked it out.

you can data log on the ver 4 wolf.

my brother and I fitted the ver4 wolf i wasn't too hard. The computer works great never had a problem. It came with a base map so it started firts pop (once i put the injector plugs onn the right injectors  )

The hand piece is easy to operate and the info it displays when driving is great. It can run 2 x auxilary outputs like water spray, shift lights ect. the wolf can also run as many fuel pumps as you like as well.

The wolf ver4 is a great ecu and i would recomend it to anybody, remember that the ecu is only as good as the tuner.

check it out www.wolfems.com.au

fil,
no that's the great thing about the Starion going fuel only ECU. The ignition is not controlled by the ECU.

As far as hand piece tuning it totally sucks. Give me a laptop any day.

If you want good un-biased advice on what ECU suits your application the best, then talk to an engine tuner that is happy to tune any ECU and has had wide experience tuning many different kinds of ECU's. (Not many 'end users' get the opportunity to try several brands of ECU's). Then choose what best suits your needs. You wouldn't buy a Fiat just because a Fiat driver said they're good (no offense intended to Fiats, they speak for themselves :)).

If you get the Wolf, your sure of getting fuel/iggy maps tuned on starions. There is enough of us on this forum with them to help you out.

Really, for a street car, any programable ecu will do the job on a starion,
but if you can save yourself hundreds in tuning, it makes the decision easier. Go for a wolf.
