WTB :: 3 Piece Rear Spoiler, Aerotech Front Lip.

Post by GormzZ »

As the title says guys, im currently looking for the 3 piece rear spoiler as seen from factory on the widebody's or the aerotech version. If their is a replica or one going cheap then im keen, as long as its straight i don't care about paint condition either :). Also on the look out to clean up my front end a bit with a aerotech front lip where possible? Condition as above also applies so i don't really mind.. Need these parts asap as they really are the two things that set of a starion's front and rear ;) in my opinion. Looking for the cheapest parts at the moment, as they seem so expensive from new...

Thanks!
Daniel.

Hi Daniel,

Welcome to Austarion!

There's really no such thing as cheap add-on body parts for the starion as there were only 50 JD starions with that look sold in Oz and there are only 20 odd wideys imported to Oz.
The parts are relatively cheap overseas but you need to pay for high postage costs due to size. Stick with the black rubber spoiler at rear and find a fibreglass spoiler for the front.
A Redzone front lip or the wrap-around one from South Aust.

A guy on the forum, 'enthuzed', is looking at replicating the rear spoilers out of fibreglass. Wait for that project to be finished or you might find some originals for a good price.
Expect to pay $300 for each end!!
I agree, big improvment in looks when the starion is fully dressed!
Good luck with your project! I read you're looking at a twin cam-set up.... :beer

thanks for the welcome mate, muchly appreciated :).

yea i'm starting to realise that now, they are such a nice car and rare find.. so glad i finally own one :). Black rubber spoiler you say? I will look into the redzone front lip but i think on this website with the bodykits one simple one captured my eye... i will try find it asap though.

That would be good! I simply just love that 3 piece dovetail spoiler look as its subtle but effective for the rear hatch. thanks mate its going to be a sweet project.. and yeah i sure am just getting as much information at the moment before i start building it.. luckily i know someone who built a sigma and gave me ideas for a cheap IM and such..

Welcome to Austarion GormzZ. What JD45STAZ said is correct about pricing, and yes I'm making the 3 piece in fibreglass, the factory one is done in polyurethane. The plan is to get the fit and finish better than the originals (which mostly weren't that great) and that is what's taking the time. That and the fact that I've had much higher priorities in the last 6 months. It will happen in time though. Stay tuned.

Yeah if he gets enough people interested... I'll be wanting one soon.
Only thing is getting it across the Tasmin.
Although... we thought if someone was flying to Aussie you could probably stick a couple in a snowboarding bag as they are pretty light, you might get lucky :D

His user name is JAS, just PM him.
I'll be getting one off him soon.
I'll talk to him tomorrow and see how many people would have to be interested to get him to knock some more up.

Need to get hold of a nice straight factory starion 3 piece to make a mould from... they're a fair bit nicer than the aerotech ones I reckon.
