Complete "small" LSD

Post by Lummy »

I'm switching back to a 3.9 and so my complete 3.54 "small" LSD housing, centre, driveshafts, torque tube is for sale.

This diff is in excellent condition - no issues whatsoever. It was fully disassembled and checked over by a diff shop when I got it about 18 months ago and was adjusted to have a quicker ramp rate (it will lock up a little sooner than a standard LSD). It has performed flawlessly for me and has always had fresh Motul LSD oil in it.

I've only just pulled it out of the car today, so I haven't taken any pics just yet, but I'll post them up sometime soon.

Price: $1000 plus delivery. Not negotiable.

Location: Sale, Vic.

There's driveshafts too, but you all know what they look like.

I notice you're in Victoria! What mechanic did you use? I've had trouble finding any in Melbourne that have any idea what to do with a Starion diff, and don't want to trust just a random shop.

I may be interested in this for my track car too, cos it might be a bit better than my current welded diff. What approx area of Victoria are you located in?

The work was actually done in Newcastle, not Victoria, so I can't help with a good Diff shop, sorry.

I find LSD's to be far better than welded diffs, even in track cars, but that's just me

I'm in Sale, way out East of Melbourne.

Isn't it funny how when you want one of these things, they're extremely rare and expensive, but when you want to sell one, they're difficult to move.

Ahhhh well.

I would love to take it off your hands... but I'm guessing the freight would cost me my right arm.

I'm guessing you'd be right...freight to Sweden would be ridiculous. Perhaps take a holiday and take it back as luggage!

yeah try getting a live axle into a starion legally rego'd, bye bye $4000!

even if u could get another type of lsd centre to go into the housing you'd be looking at 1500+ due to needing new inner cv cups etc..
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.
