Wakefield Park Track Day 3rd July

Post by NXTIME »

Guys and girls,

Rotary Enthusiasts of NSW (RENEW) are holding a track day on the 3rd of July. They have a few spots available and I have been asked to inform anyone who may wish to attend that they would be most welcome.
From the organiser:

"RENEW/REACT have a tremendous Rotary Festival planned for Saturday the 3rd of July!! Again we have booked Wakefield Park to hold a Drive Day but this time we are planning a cruise, BBQ and Show&Shine for those that don’t want to put their cars through their paces on the track or for those that simply want to come down and socialize.

The day is open to 35 track participants, again there will be driving tutors to help you improve your times and car control. To improve efficiency we have hired a timing company to come and perform the timing for the day, they will provide printed times after each session. The schedule will be run similar to the last day but will run in timed groups for a longer period. Beginners will get the same familiarization opportunity so don’t be turned away if this is your first time at a track. It is likely we will also have a group of race cars to give us a demonstration during the lunch break. Any Rotary powered cars are welcome but first option will be given to RENEW and REACT members. RENEW and REACT members will also be offered a discounted rate, however you must be a member in the state/territory in which you live and your car is registered. Passengers will again be welcome and will be able to ride in cars they can convince the owner to give them a ride in from 11am onwards. Cars participating in the drive day will be parked along the garages lining pit lane, this area is accessible to only passengers and drivers for security purposes. Again there will be awards given out as last time for fastest lap, etc.

There will be a cruise organized down to Goulbourn for participants in the show and shine. This will be located in the garages behind the dummy grid so cars will be able to be parked undercover and sectioned off so people can’t get too close if the owner desires. There will be trophies for RENEW, REACT, Peoples Choice and Ladies car award. More details on this will be posted by Jen from RENEW and Ben from REACT.

Costs of the day:

Driver- RENEW/REACT member $130
Non member $160
Passenger- RENEW/REACT member $10
Non member $20
Show&Shine- RENEW/REACT member $10
Non member $20
License- $40 (if current wakefield license isn’t held or if CAMS 2S license isn’t held)
Spectator- Free

Again we need marshals and volunteers so anyone willing to help please get in contact with me!

The day is open to Rotary entrants as of today, as mentioned RENEW/REACT members have first option so if you want membership go to www.renew.asn.au or www.react.org.au If spots are not filled the day will be open to all vehicles from the 31st of May. To get your spot simply email me at brad@renew.asn.au and I will send you out an entrance pack. This will contain most of the information you need and your entrance form which you will need to fill out and send back with your payment or details of payment.

For more information about the track contact me at brad@renew.asn.au for more info on the cruise and show&shine contact jen@renew.asn.au

This day is going to be huge, last day we had a ball and had Mark Boxer and Mark Pakula from Fast Fours covering the day so keep and eye out to see how it went. If you are into rotors at all you will want to be at Wakefield Park on Saturday the 3rd of July

Regards,

Brad"

I know that there are a few cars almost ready to hit the track soon.

Speaking of triple rotors, here's a little video of a triple rotor going from 20km/h to 180km/h. Its not really clear how quick they are going from the video, but just listen to how quick it zips through the gears before it hits 180!
