Would be fine if the guy didn't dick around with the exhaust to put the headers on it...
I still have the factory down pipe... attached to half the turbo! lol The other half is still attached to the exhaust manifold rofl

There was a chap on trademe selling full recond TD-05 small and large 16G's, genuine ones for about the same price as those new chinese ones. Would rather a genuine recond one?

Long story, but when I was talking to the guy he said he had taken the turbo off and just running it N/A, I though no problems.
Got there and it's running some sort of headers bodged to the exhaust. He showed me the turbo manifold and it had the turbo exhaust housing attached to it and the shaft and fan, the compressor housing was in another pile... I'll get some pics up today.

Well took some pics... please remember that this is how I purchased the car... All apart from the first bit was done by the revious owner!

The green plastic coated wire is how I pop the bonnet. I did this as there is no bonnet release cable. Much easier then climbing under the car. You just press down and the bonnet pops.

The mighty engine bay

The electric fan is held on by wire... and that red wire that you can see curled around it actually goes to the temp sensor and the main on the battery. It works... I give it that.
Image

The cross over pipe is far from pretty, so is everything else though as you can see...

Dodgy battery holder

Charcoal canister thingee not actually hooked up at all, even underneith

More dodgy stuff, note the AFM and the strut brace

Apart from it being dodgy as hell it actually runs extremely well.
Doesn't blow any smoke :)
Has the better DASH bottom end with the 8v top end.
Going to MPI it eventually and TD05 it, but apart from that nothing to major.

This is going to be Project El Budgo!
I'm looking for a few things in the immediate... mainly a drivers seat, any colour, condition really for free or close to free as possible. I can swap a towbar and wiring plug for one or a pair?
As long as it's in better condition than this:

I've got a set of grey front seats I don't need, but would want maybe 50 bucks for the set - you could definitely make a good pair from mine + yours.

Got most other grey interior bits if you need anything...that looks like a pretty cool project, good on you for taking it on...

Amazing with all the dodgy brothers wire & metal that it runs as well as it does. If looks were anything to go by then it would run like a piece of shit!
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?

Thanks JAS! I'll come round and grab it off you.
Yeah the brakes, clutch and gearbox are pretty mint to... looks can be decieving! rofl

Oh and did I mention that it's non-power steering? :D

Eventually I'll get some gen 2 D2 suspension, some 17's (know exactly what I want), JAS 4 pot front caliper conversion, LSD, motor turbo'd and MPI, decent steering wheel and race seats.
I have some late model parts coming as well, front bumper and side air intakes, so I'll be getting one of JAS's front skirts as well and I think the car will be done.

It's going to be far from pretty... but going handle and drive well.

Yeah it will be... I was even thinking a red door or front guard... haven't decided yet, but I think the guard might win this battle.

Sweet :D
