Starion sold on ebay

Post by starionc »

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/280734820060 ... 1423.l2649

Was this anyone from here?
I tried for 3 days to get a phone number for this guy with no response!!! So was not keen to bid on it with out seeing it. Who sells a car on ebay and doesn't put a phone number in the listing, or reply to emails when that is what you asked people to do? I'll tell you, a shonkey bugger!!!!

Good luck to the new owner if they are on here!

That's true, but I don't believe it has motec. Microtech maybe. The seller was un contactable so that leads me to smell a rat!! I've paid out good coin for a "rebuilt" motor before........cough.... DUD!! once bitten and all that.

Will be interesting to see if it pops up here.

Cheers

rebuilt motor/forged internals/etc you can't see, and therein lies the problem - i've fallen for that one too

a motec, however, you can ask to see, and if he doesn't wanna show you, you don't need to part with your money, and can dispute it on ebay :)

that said, ebay has now become extremely shite imho

Yes, ebay has gone to shit. I won an auction for a ute that was advertised as a forced sale as he broke up wih his wife bla bla bla. He had all the details listed, VIN, Engine #'s etc etc and after I won the auction, he says, "oh, the car is in my wife's name so I can't sell it (apparently she did all the paperwork ???). When I asked him why would he list a car that wasn't his and how did he manage to get the VIN, engine #'s etc etc he backtracked and said his daughter listed it for him and he couldnt remove it from ebay (BS), and also that the ute was with his wife...???

This has happened to me on a number of occasions. Complete waste of time.

It wouldn't surprise me if this car popped up for sale or on ebay again. One of the cars I won has been relisted at least half a dozen times.

I contacted the seller with some brief questions. I got partial answers along with being notified of extra pics being on eBay. I followed this up with more detailed questions and also supplied a phone number - no response whatsoever so I let it slide on by...didn't feel it was all above-board but don't know for sure.
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?

Evil Bay its now called. Never, never, never, never even place a bid without inspecting the vehicle first. If you can't do it yourself, then get someone you can trust to check it out. Then you've only got yourself to blame if the deal goes bad.

I had the exact same problem! The number he had on the other listing was wrong! and I got zero reply to loads of emails via ebay. In the end I got his number from a 3rd listing that he had. But still no number on the add. However he did send me the number in an email.
I called and............. No answer!!!

I did get a return call later that night, 10 plus hours after the auction ended. The guy that won the auction could not be reached..... (Payback me thinks) but I called again and the car was just picked up. So we will see if it pops up again or some one from here now has it.

As for the rest of ebay Grrrr my Territory is still not selling. :glare:

Anyone? Best offer over $27K

Not yet, The Trading post website shits me to tears! I MUCH prefer the paper in the good old days! You could look through it and find what you want FAST.

It's on carsales.com and Gumtree now. Fingers crossed
