Lakeside Touring car festival!

Post by redzone »

Is on this weekend guys, Craig is kicking some serious ass in the xerox shop starion! Alongside a massive field of 30 group C and group A cars!

It's on both today and tomorrow, $20 entry today, $30 tomorrow.

Bowdens have the Tru Blu falcon, Coca cola moffat mustang, and the yellow Beechey monaro there doing demo's. they're some of the loudest cars in the collection!

no noise restrictions there this weekend, never to be repeated again!

he got some advice from bartlett and the murphy brothers that built the aussie ralliart group A cars, and got the shocks rebuilt, also fixed the brakes (most of the caliper pistons had to be replaced - AP calipers)

He did a 57.7 last race of the weekend, got in front of the gio gtr at one stage, gtr got back in front though as the starion had an ignition miss caused by low batt voltage we think!

And that was on year old slicks that had been sitting in the sun, a dud wheel alignment, and a turbo that was giving 4psi less boost due to the comp wheel getting bent fins!

That car has another second in it for sure, and 56's around lakeside is seriously quick!

Myself, Shane & Derek Eklund (starion vr4) have done a bit of work on it amongst others, it's got my old 6 bolt diff in it too, and a rhr 1/4 panel from a wreck out the back of my workshop lol..

Looks like i'll be crewing for him at the AGP in melbourne next year as they're running group A & C there! Plus the philip island historics the weekend after that.
