that's one hell of a cage

makes you wonder if half cages provide any protection at all..

Very comprehensive set of monkey bars in your car Lunacy. I'm surprised you didn't get the tubing a bit closer to the A pillars.
Two questions: where will you attach the harnesses, particularly the shoulder ones?
What mods are required to your dashboard to get it past the A pillars and seated on the tube running across the steering column mount?
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?

The A pillar bars are closer than they look in the pics but hard to see due to the gussets. There are two bars in the main hoop cross that are for the harness shoulder mounts, which are set up to keep the harness angles correct.
As for the dash, original is out and new lightweight one will be going in :-)

A half cage will save you from being crushed if you roll on your roof. This cage will probably save you if you roll off a cliff, provided one of the welds dont snap and you put a piece of the cage through your chest.

Haha hence why the floorpan was modified to get the seat nice and low :-) with padding on that bar my helmet just touches it so its comfortable enough

Lunacy, have you considered fitting one of those race seats with the wrap around head protection, then you will never hit that diagonal bar.

I thought that would be where you mount the shoulder harnesses Lunacy. Are you a tall bloke or having your seats on runners? I'm guessing not.
Out of interest Lunacy, what's that cage costing you?

Im just on 6'0 tall. Nope seats are bolted thru mounting plates welded in on the floor and side of trans tunnel. Can move it a couple of slots fwd and back by unbolting it tho.
Cage plus seat and harness mounting ran me just shy of 4k including homologation paperwork. Could hav had it done cheaper but wanted it done by someone who is certed and experienced as cant put a price on your life in a crash :-)

:) So the truth though, especially for cages, you really do get what you pay for!
Strangely enough it wasnt at all difficult justifying the cost to my wife, as it usually is with anything car related! :beer
