Why I'm glad my Starion is not my daily driver
Why I'm glad my Starion is not my daily driver
I recently changed my turbo over to a water cooled roller bearing turbo ( yes it really is a 12A roller bearing turbo ). After getting it all back together and still trying to track down a miss that has now developed somehow I now find the steel water pipe that runs around the block is leaking where it fits into the front of the engine. This is hugely frustrating as now I have to pull everything off again including the turbo and power steering pump etc to get to this pipe. Can I re-use the exhaust gasket that was put on last week ? or is it a one time only deal ??

exhaust gasket can be reused. so it's leaking where the o-ring goes into the back of the water pump? did u use a new o-ring and clean the mating surfaces thoroughly? if the metal isnt pitted just use rubber grease, if the metal is bad then use gasket silicone sealer..

low revs only part throttle, any ideas ? changed rotor, cap and leads. Could be a timing issue as the dizzy was out. The rotor should be pointing to #1 cylinder when it is at the "T" mark on crank yes ? Manual talks about marks on dizzy but I cant see any. The dizzy could be one notch out as the timing isnt right, when it reads at the "T" timing light it idles was too low, turning the cap until it revs correctly throws the timing around to BTDC mark.
Sounds like a dizzy/timing issue
