I saw this vid months ago and wondered whos it was. Very nice! How did you interface the staz speedo with the nissan driveline? Did you use a nissan box or mitsi?
Thanks but i can't take any credit for the vid or conversion. Dirty sanchez was the man who did both. The box is a Nissan, and seems to run some sort of converter box between the speedo drive and the box itself.

Gear ratios 200sx vs Starion are:
5MT (S14) ------- 5MT (Starion)
1 3.321---------- 1. 3.37
2.1.902---------- 2. 2.03
3 1.308---------- 3. 1.36
4 1.000---------- 4. 1.00
5 0.838---------- 5. 0.86

Final Drive : 3.692 --------------------Final Drive : 3.54

I like the 3:5 diff but it is very easy to be caught off boost in 5th on the freeway. If it was sitting 500rpm or so higher it would come on boost much easier, and make overtaking much nicer. I am hoping the 3.9 swap will fix this.

I believe Dirty Sanchez had a 3.9 diff in the car for a while, and i think the speedo may be is corrected to that. It's possible the 3.5 diff was fitted for the vid with a 3.9 gear making the car seem faster in than it really is. Guess i will have to make my own film on a private road with a gps inclusion to find out

Hey man, yeah sounds like a good idea. Interesting to hear about the converter box. Looks like it does the trick though. I hear you about the diff ratios. They do take a bit more to build up on. What does it sit on at say 100? Must be quite similar looking at the 5th gear ratio. I'd would definately agree with you doing a video run rofl

The cars in no state for a video run  It needs suspension, the radiator crack fixed, a re-tune and some brake pads again then maybe.

My brother's GT four ST185 group a celica has one on it, comes on early and makes power close to redline, they're an awesome match for a 2L street car, should make similar power & response to a KKR430
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

Small update rofl Diff just broke on me 5 mins ago. Lucky for me it happened in my street so it's a cheap tow. Seems the small diff isn't as strong as i thought. Oh well... Time for the big 3.9 to go in. lets hope that's stronger!

Sadly no  I was driving up a hill and noticed it was starting to develop a funny vibration (felt like a wheel was loose.) I thought i'll check it when i get home being only one street away, but she didn't make it. It locked solid and even the tilt tray had dramas pulling it up.

Poo. I think it was. You can use some parts from a standard unit to fix an LSD, like crownwheel and spider gears. And the housing as well if Shannon tore it a new one.
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
