FS: [VIC] REDUCED- Freshly rebuilt 4G63 Starion 2L engine

Post by MitsuMadness »

For sale:
Freshly rebuilt Starion 4G63 engine 2 litre.
[Price reduced as I need to move it along!]

Also if interested, I have a JB throttle body, inlet manifold, and perhaps even the wiring and ECU if someone is really keen for these parts, ie for a conversion or something. I also have an L300 manifold (still standard) that could be used and may be available.

Condition:
Fresh rebuild - new pistions, rings, bearings, etc all the things you would expect in a fresh rebuild. This was built from a good block, and head. This engine was professionally rebuilt (not built by me). I was going to use it to make a spare silver shell I have here into a really good shell, but unfortunately the need for money to finish my workshop has pushed me to need to sell this.
(For photos see the eBay listing - see below)

Price and price conditions:
$2500 or best offer. [UPDATE: Now $2000 or best offer].
This item is also on eBay, here is the link:
Item 250838733055
Or simply copy and paste the item number 250838733055 into the search box on eBay and hit search.
(UPDATE: I have updated the link and item number above with the new relisted item, I will keep relisting till it sells or someone makes me an offer I'm happy with)
If you're keen to buy it without eBay, let me know, and make me an offer, and I'll cancel the eBay listing (as long as there are no bids on it). Once there are bids on it, unfortunately it's only on eBay, but wanted to post this here so you all know!

Contact Details:
Best way is it call me on 0413 781 764 any time from 8am to 10pm, or otherwise you can PM me or reply to this thread, but I may be a little slower to respond.

Location:
Melbourne - Northern Suburbs

Delivery & Conditions of Delivery:
Pickup is preferred, however, I'm happy to deliver it within Victoria for $50 for anything up to 100km and $1 per km after that (buyer must be able to help me lift it off at the other end, or have an engine crane etc). Interstate is fine, but the conditions are as follows: I am happy to deliver it to the e-go Depot (or similar depot) in Melbourne for $40, and then the buyer must organise and pay all shipping costs. I suggest taking a look at www.e-go.com.au as they are very good for this sort of thing, and I have used them before. You simply book the delivery, email me a copy of the delivery note, I attach it to the item, and drop it off at the e-go depot that is quite close to my house. As an example, delivery to Sydney city area, with e-go, at around 120kg is around $70, plus my $40 cost to deliver it to the depot, and there you have $110 total delivery cost. Not bad! Cheaper if you pick it up from their depot near you as well.

(thanks JDSTAZ45 for putting me on to e-go, they're great!)

Thanks guys! This would make a great engine to keep your Starion going, or convert a Sigma!

C'mon Hugh, you can tell 'em it's a BTL motor. Chris Collier has done the build to his usual very high standard of workmanship.
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...

Yes, absolutely, as enthuzed says, this engine is built by Chris Collier, so is of excellent quality! I also have another of his engines for my track JB.

But yes this was built for one of his own Starions that he didn't end up going ahead with.

I kinda want to keep it, but have too many projects and now really need to finish this shed :(

So someone will get an excellent engine here! And if it doesn't sell, then I have an excuse to keep it :D

What kind of reliable power will this engine hold? Not being forged?
Chris's builds though, very nice.

Thanks guys :) yeh I do like his builds and have found them to last very well.
So in terms of actual horsepower you could run from this I'm not exactly sure, but he did say he used the better quality pistons (I can't remember brand off the top of my head), and so he said it would really be a pretty strong build, and take a reasonable amount of power easily as long as I didn't do anything stupid.

I mean it could be fine for my track car too, but cos I know that I want to really seriously punish the track car I kind of want to make sure it's got forged and it would be a shame to take this apart again and do all that again - plus I have Troy's (Bodeo on the forum) forged engine almost ready to drop in now, and that's a tough Chris Collier engine with 293 HP at the rear wheels on the dyno and was going great for years in Troy's car before I got it!

Hope that helps at least partly answer the question :)

Yeh not bad, there's a fair number of people watching the auction now, and I doubt people will usually act until at least a bit closer to the end date. Altho the buy it now price dissapears once the first bid goes on, so it's possible it could go for more than the $2.5k if people get excited!
