kiwieurospec wrote:With the help of JAS again we got this going at the weekend, got the fuel pump going and replaced some injector seals. Runs nice, accept when it gets to operating temp and you go to rev the engine it just revs up and down?? Was going to take it for a drive yesterday until I struck this little problem.
It should go to the panel shop for a few things later in the week.

Id be checking the MAP sensor. Try unpluging it when the cars warm. Some starions run without them pluged in, some dont.

idle hunting means the engine is running lean and looking stabilise itself.

i dont know what adjustment can be made to the factory computer but maybe wind the dizzy back a fraction?

its not so much idle hunting .. its more like the car jerks back and forth under a low load ... but if u put ya foot down it runs ok. got the dash engine going in soon so lots more fun and games for me!

I'd like to know this too. My car was doing that & I suspect the fuel pump
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?

Bit different to your one Kushman as it wouldn't be driveable at all once at operating temp, it will drive and boost etc and be fine until then.
Might try a few things today if time allows.

A friend had the same problem lately with a Silvia he built, he couldn't fix it and in a fit of rage stripped the car to a bare body shell and transfered everything to another body LOL looking foward to him starting that again.

Sounds like it needs a TPS/ISC reset. Might also check your CTS.

That was exactly my intentions, however today it ran fine so maybe it just needed a drive. Thats unlikely but will just see how it goes.
