oh ok, that wasnt the impression i got from the pictures. so the oil feed is on the bolt hole closest to the thermostat. how far up is the gallery?

The oil feed is on the rear head bolt hole on the exhaust side of an evo 1, 2, 3 head. If I remember correctly the gallery is about 20mm up, but don't quote me on it. If you have a look you should be able to see the opening for the gallery.

Back to your original question.

This is one option for a rear water outlet. I have made up a pipe out of aluminium from the rear outlet on the head, note the air bleeder fitting.(brass fitting at the highest point)

The pipe leads to a mid 80's corolla thermostat housing(AE82 fwd), Before it leads to the top radiator tank.

I have used the VR4 water pump, I made the pipe so that I can put the bottom radiator hose on. I still have a heater and thermostat, that is the function of small black pipe going below the exhaust ports. It feeds the low pressure side of the heater core, and also goes on to the bypass port on the thermostat housing. This is so that water circulates past the thermostat before it opens.

I used a bit of flat black plastic cut to shape and silicone :)

I cut the engine mount flush with the rubber surround and painted it black

sorry guys one more question, with the oil feed hole, do i need to drill down into the block under that hole too? or will the 12mm head stud sitting in there not block it like it does with the head hole. cheers
