Is there any type-number on the pressureplate?
Ending with 618 maby? (not the 228...)

Fugazi

Blowing the picture up, it looks like 8082 005 336, the first part of the number is fairly faint, hard to tell if 8082 is correct, i will be pulling out the gearbox again in a few weeks, i will post then

that would be correct, the MF228 is on the pressure plate, i did the clutch around the mid to late 90's, there might be one from a newer model that will also fit, you still use a standards starion clutch plate and release bearing

I'm thinking elsewise...
The 618 plate can hold 450Nm (Organic disc)...
But the 336 not likeley to do much moore than 3-350Nm... (I'm guessing!)
And the 618 is allso 228mm. With lots of mountingholes...
Wouldn't the 618 be a better choise?

remember, the diaphragm mine was changed to up the clamping force from 1850 pounds to 2400, that will take more than 350nm torque, the 618 might not have been available back when i did my clutch

I took my car to Wakefield Park on Wednesday, all went well except for the brakes, i should have changed the brake fluid, i did it 6 months ago, should have done it before i went again, there was only about 20 people there, i managed to get around 75 laps in for the day, i had very little brake after the 3rd session, we did bleed the brakes part the way through the day, got some pedal back, i got down to 1.14, Brett was doing 1.08 for most of the day, and then 1.075 at the end of the day, some more practice needed, had a load of fun.

Great to hear you are putting the car through its paces! I'm not sure of the layout of the track but what speeds did you reach??
Were you pleased with the S2 coilovers? Were they firm enough for track?
So what's the next step for the brakes? An upgrade of some sort before the next outing.... :D

Sounds like you had a ball in a safe enviroment :beer
If you want to lower your lap times may I suggest book in for a track day with say John Bowes advanced driving school as they will give you tips on the 4 important positions involved in getting around corners ,looking where you want to go rather than where the car is pointing, being smooth, trail braking etc etc
I would reccomend a set of spare wheels fitted with semi slicks if you intend to do regular track days
Re the brakes if they are stock them I would upgrade the pads, install braided hoses and use RBF 600 fluid and that will give better feel and better response when things get hot
I've had mine since 03 07 92

I have always said that no matter how good a street car you think you have, take it to the track and you will see it's pitfalls really quick...

Being the first time at the track never helps either. Sort out the brakes, learn the lines and the times will drop.

Great to here Brett's starion is doing 1:07's now

To put that into perspective for someone from another state or country, I was there a week before and watched a modded porsche gt3 rs on slicks do a 1:08.5 LOL My old E2 converted GSR was doing 1:12 on semis, and when my widey was stock and on road tyres did a 1:16.

I would say your car has mid 1:12 potential for sure :D

When are you guys running again?

Good to see you're getting some fun time after the hard work.
Don't give up on the standard brakes just yet; I've run them since day one and have done sprints at Sandown & Phillip Island as well as Targa Rookie & Targa High Country.
Oldies advice re. better padsl braided lines & fluid is spot on, but first time out it can feel really scary when you feel that fade sensation.
I do a lot of left-foot braking, especially doing the Targa events, and I have never lost confidence in what the brakes can handle.
Keep up the good work, and the more time you spend with your bum in the seat the better you'll feel.

There was nothing wrong with the pads, just the fluid and possibly the hoses, i had ferodo 3000 series pads, only had dot 4 fluid and still standard hoses, will upgrade the hoses and fluid, i might look at some ebc yellow stuff for the next day, i used road tyres for the first half of the day and slicks for the afternoon
