My sigma turbo wagon

Post by JAS »

Well Im an addict lol A mitshbishi turbo addict.
Found this sigma wagon on trade me and got it at a good price.

Its a 1984 Sigma Super. NZ new not a import. Must have been the high grade one as its got P/Steering, 4 electric windows, C/Locking and A/C.

At some stage many years ago someone has fitted a starion turbo motor and 5 speed, with a disc brake rear end.

Its got rust on the roof where the roof rack screws on and in the bottom of both front doors.

Its been de-regoed since 1998 and hasnt been started in 4 years after the guy that owned it got very sick over a long period and died a few years ago. Bought it off his widdow.

I replaced a fuel line as one was missing, and a P/Steering hose, hooked a battery up to it and put some gas in the tank as it was bone dry. Turned the key and fuel poured out from under the rear. Replaced another fuel line and tried again. This time fuel poured out from around the top of the inlet mainfold. I pulled it apart and replaced a few O rings. Tried it again and it started!! Ran smoothly after a few seconds.
Ill take it for a run up the road tomorrow to see how it drives :)

Will its been over a year since Ive updated this so thought Id through up some pics.
Ive fixed the rust and had the repairs painted. It was at the painters for over 6 months!! I didnt really have the room for it anyway lol And to be fair I did tell the guy I wasnt in a hurry for it....

Ive also lowered it with compressed springs. Its going to need new shocks in the back and either new shorter inserts in the front or just shorten the factory ones.

Before

The day after I removed the springs it snowed.

After

Its not as low in the front as I was hoping for but it should settle a little with use.
I dont really have the time for this car, so may sell it as is. Anyone interested? Would make a very different drift car lol

Looks like you might need to pour buckets of ice on the roof more often, it lowered that car nicely! :P
