Starter button and Ignition setup

Hi guys and Gals
As above I am trying to wire up a starter button setup for my JA as the ignition barrel is buggered I think.
So instead of replacing it I am going to put some new wiring in to make a panel of switches etc.
Car will be used for track only and will probably never be registered for the road again.
I have struggled for months to find the problem with the ignition but have not found the problem.
I can start it by using a screw driver on the starter motor (which is now brand new) and it starts and runs fine.
Any help with regards to where the wiring goes would be greatly appreciated.
I know it could be easier to pay someone to do it but I want to learn about the Starion and do most of the work myself if I can.
I have a starter button and a couple switches ready with rolls of appropriate wiring and connectors.
So list of wires and their destinations as I see it -
- wire to battery constant 12v
- Wire from SB (Starter Button) to ground
- Wire from SB to Accessory for illuminated button
- wire from SB to starter motor solenoid
- wire from SB to ignition 12v

Well fixed it myself

put in a starter relay aswell and an ignition switch that seems to have fixed it.
