Re: no longer for sale
Funny that, the car I bought also did not have an LSD. Not all GSR-V's have LSD's.RiceThief wrote:No longer for sale, car i bought did not have lsd.
There must have been an entry level with the Dash powered Starions!
GSR-V's without the rear ABS and no Climate Control would more than likely have NO LSD!! Take a note if you are after one!!

Re: no longer for sale
Mal, my gsrv has an lsd, i bought a shell with the promise of an lsd, thankfully i tested it before picking it up. Unfortunately the shell was not as described and will require more work than my previous shell. Let that be a lesson for everyone that not all starion owners are enthusiast and never put a deposit on something sight unseen. Thankfully there are members on here that fantastic, like yourself Mal. The gsrv I got from you not only was in better condition than you described and the photos, you are a real enthusiast and a great guy as are alot of other starion owners I've met over the years.JDSTAZ45 wrote: Funny that, the car I bought also did not have an LSD. Yeah, I was 99% sure the black GSR-V had the LSD. Just was thrown off that it was a small LSD as I took for granted it was a Large!
Just putting out the message, you simply need to check! From what I know...
1.Look for option codes
2.Check to see if there is an orange placard sticker on drivers side door opening.
3.Measure rear sway bar. 16mm = no lsd
4.Jack car up and do a basic test. Spin one wheel and the opposite wheel should spin in same direction, not opposite or no movement at all. Usually!!
5.Last resort, open back end of diff to see if its there!!
Oh! And thanks for the kind remarks :)

this does not help you differentiate between an lsd and a welded/spooled diff :PNXTIME wrote:Mal, you forgot:
6. Rev & dump it in 1st gear and then check the tyre marks :D
