I haven't heard of a 4.6?

Whip the rear cover off and check:

39 tooth ring with 11 pinion = 3.54
43 tooth ring with 11 pinion = 3.90
38 tooth ring with 9 pinion = 4.22

If it's an LSD, it's worth some good coin.

I've got a 4.6 LSD You don't need to pull the back off, just mark the front of the tube with chalk or white out, what every you have!
Then mark the spline where the drive shaft goes, turn the front of the tube and count how many times it goes around before the spline does a full turn.
Or is it the spline that does 4.6 turns? Either way it is easy to tell a 3.5 from a 4.6! (If you can count that is )
Cheers rofl :D :D

well then by the sounds of that explanation I do have a 4.6, already measured it by counting the turns and was just over 4 and a half turns at the torque tube end.

Ooh shortened Pajero diff!
My mate had one of these in his JA. It was quick with instant acceleration, but the top speed of the car was about 165kmh in 5th gear.

4.62's hah, good for some rallying.

4.88's, and 5+ even... if you want to go crazy.

no wonder your car used so much fuel when u first got it!

the gears come straight from an early pajero front diff, the housings are similar..
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

So it looks like that, its not a 3.9. but it is its 4.6 lsd pajero cousin.
