Xentro,
yes that's it. Great pic that's what my old pistons looked like.
Need a 63T piston (not a 63Ts) Anyone have one?
compresion
hay daivid when yar said that the pistons you have give the higher compresion, just how much higher is it, cause im trying work out why I have 155psi of compresion.
when I read on a thred that most commen motors have around 135psi I think somone said.

Rassy,
150-155psi is correct compression for those (the higher compression type as per my photo) pistons (that's what I got when I checked my engine). Be carefull if you are turning up the boost without an intercooler. However I ran 1bar with a JD type intercooler setup and L300 MPI with no problems (Optimax needed of course).
You should notice better "off boost" performance and response with the higher compression.

I comp tested my engine on Friday and came up with 125psi on all cylinders. The pistons in it are 7.5:1 but the head has been shaved to bump it up to 8.2:1

thanks for that guys been wondering about that for a whille, wasn't sure if I had taken way to much off the head of not, but I still think the head is about done.
An Iam running a coolier an have made a manual bost controler into a Electronic boost controler, so she all good, an when I do flick the boost up ive set if at 12psi except the for the dirty big scores runnig down the bours of 3 an 4 an posible no. 2 the cam timming sliped a tooth an was pinging its guts out.

Re: Bingo!
Well I still have 3 completly good pistons with rods out of a 180000km engine. The only problem is that I'm in Holland so I fear the shipping would take long and be expensive.David wrote:Got another still attached to a complete rod?

And i don't know if you have any import regulations.
