Widebody crushed on boneyard :(

Was just waching the tv show boneyard on 7mate and they had a conquest that they stripped and crushed on camera. The car looked mint! Plus it had many good parts on it.

Such a shame, had a tear in my eye :( lol

Yep I caught it by chance. :(
Had a shot of the red one being loaded into the car cuber complete with rear rims.
Then had a closeup shot of it pre crusher with them stripping the front wheels, which were super polished.
Car also looked pretty clean with glossy paint, and seemed stripped of most interior, maybe the shell was smashed in on the other side, I didn't notice. Was a little distressing to see still.

The show also had some pretty decent 50's/60's cadillacs half buried in the ground for the sake of culture/art (this was done in the 70's) that was a bit of a shame.

Plenty of half decent now collector cars in OZ were turfed (toranas/monaros etc) over the years because they were once deemed "uneconomic repair/restorers". It's the way of this consumer world unfortunately. One of the mainstream sentiments I feel I'm rebelling against by spending way more than it's retail worth on a car like a Starion.

Impressive recycling effort though, better than land fill. It's also what drives up collector/retro car values eventually, with profit for the long term custodian.

Probably the best place for a 50's or 60's caddilac if you ask me. Whilst they were at it I wish somebody had buried a few of those dog ugly pieces of shit the mindless masses get hung up on called Phase 3 GTHO's.

I bet it had a title... probably just a blown headgasket and it got sent to the JY because no shops around here will want to work on them, and the owner didn't know about us on the forum.

Pretty sure 75% of the cars that go to the scrapper began from blown headgaskets. All the ones I've seen personally in my area don't have damage, and are nearly complete.
