That would be too good to be true if if was a TOB but TOB & SB are only working when the clutch pedal is depressed so while the noise mostly dissapears when the clutch is disengaged
Thrash the car is not at my home so can't start it up to refresh my memory of what it sounds like.
I have decided to hang onto the BH untill I work out which box i am going to use
I've had mine since 03 07 92

Sorry for late posting, just picked up on this thread.
I am running the W58 and have had no drama at all except for a crappy (ie sloppy) gear change which had more to do with the lever mechanism than the box. I bought a short shifter for about 400 from NZ off fleabay and that fixed that issue right up. Now I have short, sharp and crisp changes and never a hint of a missed 2-3 shift. Just push it forward and keep going LOL .
At the end of the day mate, all I can say is the W58 has given absolutely no dramas and is untouched after a lot of k's in a road car and no doubt copped some abuse from the previous owners. I am pretty easy on boxes and always heel/toe or double clutch and not into skids and step off starts. I imagine you would be the same :beer
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.
excuse my noobish ignorance.. what's a step off start?

don't try explaining that to her tho..... just leave. lol

Greg you know I don't do skidzs or donuts like the kiddzs and drive like a nana LOL but yes have been DDCing since 17 and just starting to shave off the bumfluff
Was wondering if the tunnel had to be "massaged "at all to fit the w58 ???

No massaging Rad to the tunnel it fits in but you will need to fabricate a new crossmember for the g'box (can mod the existing one to fit). Also get the longest selector shaft extension you can to get the gear lever as far back in the car as possible.
Cheers mate

oldie, with the W58, there are some issues as well if you want the speedo connected - not sure if Greg has his speedo connected?
for mine, the guys cut a whole through the cross member and ran the speedo cable through the hole. Otherwise you can get a 90 degree extension for the speedo output on the gearbox - according to Redzone, the isuzzu/holden piazza ones are the go, but good luck finding one of those :)
Also, my speedo is either 7% or 14% off.. i forget which one.. but this can be corrected with a ratio box or different tyre diameters :) and of course you'll have the same issue with the fc box, so this isn't really a deciding factor at all.
