3 bolt axles from an export Starion...??

Post by Komeuppance »

This starion is in the middle east, and has been highly modified, but according to someone who met the owner personally it came with a 3 bolt axle rear end.
Car has WRX rack and pinion and was modified by JUN Auto in Japan. Also, that's a "world" model, only came with a 3 bolt, so it has a skyline rear in it. That car has some extensive modifications that most of us could only dream about affording.
So, do these 3 bolt rears exist??

My 4ws car has them does that count? Also think Cordia 4wd's have them and Galant Vr4 I think as well.

Both my early JDM and 86 Euro Spec cars have 4 bolt so this "World Model" talk is most likely bullshit, but nothing would surprise me with these cars it seems no two are the same.

That is an awesome Starion btw.

I beg to differ.

It is an awesome looking car, but it struggles to overpower the tyres, he is using the handbrake and "throwing" the car to get it to drift, rather than raw power.

throwing the car IS what drifting is all about though, power oversteer is not!

also, trouble overpowering the tyres is not necessarily the cars fault.. the vn wagon i'm driving for the moment has a MUCH easier time overpowering the tyres that my staz.. does that mean the wagon is a better car or has more power or a better engine? not a chance..

in this case my rookie eyes would say it has a lot more to do with the driver - he's not keeping it in the power band methinks?

Thrash do you mean the Commodores tyre? lol

For driving around some cones at night in a carpark I think he does pretty well, and it sounds to me it can easily overpower the tyres.

Anyway I know it has Nissan and Subaru components but its pro built by JUN auto looks great has heaps of power and the owner who has a fleet of supercars doesn't mind giving a workout and it takes it. To me that is an awesome Starion.
