Wideband controllers, SLC Pureplus - FREE STUFF for a review

Post by Komeuppance »

Hey guys, I've got a GP going and we're so close to getting our quota... I thought I'd ask here to see if you guys were interested.

It's that time again. Wideband time. If you don't have one on your modified car, you NEED one... this is also a great tool for figuring out why your Starion is acting up. Been waiting a while for these to come out, the JAW wideband controller group purchase was great, but these are ready to go plug and play units. These are in direct competition with the Innovate LC1 ($150 without gauge/sensor) and PLX SM-AFR ($150 without gauge/sensor), but were created with the consumers budget in mind. Plus it has USB connections vs serial (Save $20 for that serial to USB adapter), and datalogging capability, including a RPM pickup (12v coil trigger compatible).

You should probably point out that the price is in USD$, not AUD$

Seems like a pretty good deal though.

Shipping is $13.45USD

As far as I know switching the display to from AFR to Lambada is not possible. It could easily be programmed, but it may be too big for the limited on board memory size.

We have reached our minimum purchase, so I will be ending this GP soon... get in while you can!!

btw, how long do wideband sensors last these days? people used to tell me that if you keep one installed in a car, it will die very quickly.. and then recently i overheard someone saying that technology is better now, and you can keep em installed for 3 or 4 years at least? what's the go?

Wideband sensors used to die in dyno's regularly, but this is mainly due to using them on diesels, if you use one on a petrol engine they last ages..
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

ages as in 3 or 4 years? is there a specific distance away from the engine they need to be mounted to ensure longevity?
