Idea: Austarion calendar featuring YOU???
**Edit**
It occurs to me that there is a better way to do this.
If you have a thread (or number of threads) where you have pics of your car already uploaded, post the link(s) to the thread here and I will take my pick of a couple of photos to highlight your car.
If you DON'T already have the photos uploaded, do it here.
********ORIGINAL POST AND IDEA BELOW*******
Hi guys, sorry I haven't been dropping by.
I don't know if this idea has been done before... Would anyone be interested in me putting together a calendar for 2011 (and if it's successful maybe ongoing) featuring your best pics of your starion? There's some good ones out there.
The way it could possibly work is you post the pics in this thread and either:
1) you all vote for the best 12, or
2) nominate a judge to pick them, or
3) I'll just pick them out for successive calendars.
I could just go through the show and go pics, but I'd rather you select the photos you'd be happy to have used in that way.
A nice idea might also be to have a little quote from you about what you think about your car... maybe? yes? no?
I can put it together in a program from a company called momento, I provide you the link to the finished, uploaded product for you to peruse and then you order them direct from the site. They cost around $40 from memory.

Awesome idea! Yeh I'd get one of those, price seems fine too. :D
It'd be great having a calendar with photos of peoples cars off here, rather than just your average photos of nice cars that we don't know anything about.

Looks like the idea is a goer then.
Well, once I get the photos I can get them ready pretty quickly. Say deadline of end of November, that way you will have time to get them ordered, printed and sent out ready for new year?
And just to be clear, I don't make any money off this, you're just paying the company that prints it.

This photo has just become nationally famous, it's on page two of the 2010 Australian Motorkhana Championship regs & entry form!

Pic size doesn't need to be huge, the photos that usually end up on here are easily good enough, but obviously the better the quality, the better the resulting image.
Only thing is that I don't want to get in hot water over copyright, that's why I'd rather have people offer photos of their own cars rather than pinch them from websites or magazines etc.

I am also trawling the show and go section for likely candidates. Keep your eyes peeled for inbox messages asking for permission guys. I'll mock up a quick example of the type of thing I'm thinking of for you so you have an idea of where I'm going with this.
And by the way, you all need to get more creative with colour. Black, white, silver and red... sheesh, there's technically only one proper colour in there!
:P
