its actually a wide body air dam.. hehe

i dont think any JDs had the air dam with the little extension around the bottom.. although the wide body had both versions..

we'll be the first lot around here with late model air dams on early model cars.. and if anyone asks, we all bought our cars like that!

haha

The lucky few

Right guys here is the deal.
I rang DHL, these guys are very expensive. $500nz to send just 2 airdams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And they couldnt tell me what customs charges will be.
It sounds like there will be a handling charge of about $50,for the parcel, not for each airdam. And there may be GST depending on who you get.
I will put a letter in the parcel saying they are second hand. That should help.
They will be far to big to fit into a starion. So take a trailer or stationwagon.

I need you guys to email me your Phone numbers, address and full names.
I will then email you back to confirm your order and give you payment details. You can pay me straight away if you want or wait untill I am ready to send them. Up to you.
Shouldnt be more than 3 weeks, probably 2 weeks.
Thank you very much Jason Prescott

ok wait...now i'm confused... :?
so we r scrapping DHL and goin for wot we first discussed yeah? so $300NZ airdam, $150NZ to send plus $25NZ for every additional airdam..
so for the four of us in Melbourne it would cost.....
150+25+25+25= 225
225 / 4= 56.25
So $300NZ + $56.25NZ = $356.25NZ
Aussie Exchange rate:
$310.70AU EACH
CORRECT??
:wtf:

change:
150+25+25+25= 225
to:
150+25+25+25+50= 275

that additinoal handling charge he mentioned.. then they may be tightarses and charge us GST.. how do they work out the value of the package?

$368.75NZ = $321.50AU each...ok...now, no one can pull out or the pricing all changes again ok guys? :D

Go for it guys, you wont regret it

Holy crap $500 bucks for 2 air dams. Did you ask for a rate. I just paid $123 to DHL for a rear spoiler from Aerotech . That was freight + 10% GST and 15% customs.

I think they're charging you 'suicide' rates. Ask again and get some quotes to go back to them with. The kits are large and very well packed - you will defintely need a station wagon or trailer.

They're right about customs tho - depends on who you get and what mood they're in on the day. Cookie and me just got 'customed' on $300 worth of parts from the States - bugger.

Good luck,
Cheers

the rear spoiler is shaped like 3 sticks you can bundle together for a small package tho... when i wanted to get rear and side skirts over it was gonna cost over 300 :( how do you ask for a better rate?

Deecs,

Seriously, you ask for a "rate". Just plain out and tell them you're not going to pay full book.

The other option you have is, if you are paying the freight separately from the invoice for the goods themselves, is to get the bill for the freight, pay half, leave a balance unpaid and on the remittance advice write "overcharged - please credit". If this balance is less than $100 they will send you 2-3 reminders then write it off if unpaid. This process works in 90% of cases, if you have the nads for it.

Freight companies will not spend much money chasing small value debts if there is a record of a dispute. If they question it say "you got a rate at the time but wasnt given any details of the quote number."

BUT you didnt hear the from me OK.

Good luck,
Cheers
