Clarification on what turbo

GT2860R - 707160 - 5

Now I am not so sure on how to read compressor maps but you can see there is a difference between the Gt2860RS & the one that I have.

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobyga ... 9548_1.htm

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobyga ... 7160_5.htm

The end result in regards to output is the same 360 not 370hp sorry.

It looks to me that by the compressor map that it will come on later but stronger.

Please correct me if I am wrong. I live with three women so I am use to that.

The standard ECU use to have a lump before the change of cams & turbo but later on use to go scavaging I think due to a vacume leak. I met the great Rad once when I had had enough and I was looking to sell the car and he thought, from my description of how it idled, ( because it was not running) that it had some sort of a problem but I had been driving it for 5 years previously.

Hopefully I will have the rust at the base of the windscreen repaired, it all tuned and registered before 22 Aug as this is my present to my self for my 40th birthday. I think I'm going through a midlife crisis

I have a feeling it won't evenuate, but I am doing my up most to get it done in time.

Have one for me everyone .

dirtygalant wrote:Evo 3 cams are the same as VR-4 cams as far as Mitsubishi CAPS is concerned, as the VR-4 part number has been superseded by the Evo 3 part number. The lift and duration is also the same between the two. It is the Evo 1 which has smaller lift and duration compared to the VR-4 and Evo 2/3 cams. This is comparing JDM to JDM models though, for all I know the AUDM VR-4 cams could be different again, but the JDM VR-4 cams certainly are the same specs as Evo 3.

Here are the cam specs for various 4G63s:

Inhalation lift quantity (mm)
Inspiration angle (degrees)
Exhaust lift quantity (mm)
Exhaust action angle (degrees)

RVR SSG - 8.5 252 8.5 252
Evo 1 - 8.5 252 8.5 252
RVR HSG - 9.5 252 9.5 252
Evo 2/3 - 9.5 252 9.5 252
VR4 - 9.5 252 9.5 252
AMG - 10 260 9.5 264
Thanks dg, do you know if these are duration@50 thou? Looks more like"inspiration angle"?
