Could be the flexible cable playing up again. I took the VELNAS apart to resolder it some years ago. Details are here:

Ive got a question.
How does one get the clock working with out the Trip computer pluged in? My car (gold one) is a GSR 3 but I removed the trip computer bits. And I can't swap the clock unit for a non Valnas one as the plugs are different

The previous owner of the car I had chucked out the stereo and VELNAS unit. I had to hunt for a while to get another VELNAS unit to make the clock go. Only way I could see to do it. I don't know how the clock units work on other models, but I guess you'd have to find the correct wiring from that to the VELNAS display unit and make up an adapter.

All the clock needs is ground, +12V constant and +12V when ACC is on. You could easily grab those power sources from the stereo wiring loom no doubt.JAS wrote:Ive got a question.
