WTB Turbo to airfilter pipe & STD intercooler
Hi Everyone,
I'm chasing a replacement pipe (JA 82) to go from my turbo to air-filter box as mine developed a really bad tear on the turbo end today.
I did find this replacement on ebay but I’m not 100% sure if this one would fit as it’s designed for the US Starion.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT
If anyone else has/makes any custom versions of the pipe also I would be interested. Pretty much as long as it gets the job done ill be happy and i figure might as well keep the Aud dollars local on onshore if some one has a local solution.
Im also looking around for a standard starion intercooler and piping, if anyone has one in good nick lying around they are keen to get rid of drop me a line.
Regards
Johnny

The standard I/C can be bought from US ebay. There's the 16 bar I/C that was on the JD which are pre 87 models.
And there's the widey I/C with thicker 14 bars, considered more efficient.
Last year, I bought widey i/c with pipes, hoses and brackets and overflow bottle diversion. The pipes suit a JB injection setup, so some mods will need
to be done to suit the early JA injection. $400.
And the turbo will need to be facing the right way...(TD05 etc)
PM me if interested!

Hi Jdstaz45,
Sorry about not getting back to you sooner but im in the middle of moving house (always fun).
I might be keen on the cooler setup but after doing a bit of looking around ive got some concerns about the intercooler sticking out of the bottom of the JA bumper and being a cop magnet unless i put a front bar on her or something to that effect. ill drop you a PM shortly anyway
Anyone have one of them Airbox to turbo pipes kicking around? go on! cough one up! you know you want to! other whys ill be forced to send more money to the Americans, anyone know if that ebay pipe will even fit the JA?

I will probably have a tc05 (JD turbo) available once I upgrade my widie turbo to a tdo5h....
I don't think there will be any non compliance or police issues as cooler and pipes all mount in factory locations
with all slots and bolts present in all models I've seen... I believe all front spoilers still fit with no drammas.
Just some of the oil cooler lines need to be moved or s/s braided hoses can be used!

i might put this inter-cooler setup on hold for the time being until i throw together a budget for the whole thing with a front bar

Hopefully in the next 6-8 weeks! You will need your 8cm2 exhaust housing from the TC06 as the TC05 has 6cm2.Johnyturbo wrote: how long off do you think you will be from doing a turbo swap?
That's if you want similar performance out of the turbo...but slightly different characteristics. Quicker spool down low but a little
less thrust in the high revs..
I will let you know when available! :beer

In that case, just machine the compressor housing to take on the TC06 wheel....(if possible)! Or build a hybrid turboredzone wrote:TC06 exh housing on TC05 wont work mal, TC06 exh weel is huuuuuuuge compared to TC05. just plonk the TC05 straight on it'll be fine..

I think ill put this I/C setup on hold for the time being until i do a bit of planning didn't realize how much was involved untill we started looking at a turbo swap ect.
Was that a yes to the spare pipe i'm chasing for the turbo to airbox or for the I/C setup?
Al the setup i was looking at was much the same as the one you showed me on your car when i was around picking up parts awhile back.Alspos wrote:Yes. I have one.
