Photo uploads disabled right now, but for how long?

Post by enthuzed »

Any idea on when we can get pics up again via freeze.net?
Isn't there a limit on what can be uploaded anyway?
Having said that, there has been enormous pics whacked on the site of late.
It's the 5 and 8MP cameras that people have these days, the pics are not being resized when the images are uploaded.
I always resize mine before uploading (using a 5MP camera).

The upload thing attached to the site was designed and paid for by freestyler. I don't think he has a starion any more and doesn't post here much anymore so it is a bit rich to expect him to keep paying the fees associated with web space.

I think the abuse would have come more from people using freestylers thing to host the pictures to be uploaded on other forums. The more people that view the more it costs. So if pasted onto a far bigger more viewed forum it costs money.

The short story is create a photobucket, imageshack or any other photo upload site account. This will allow you to paste pics anywhere you want on the webs.

The worst thing it that old posts will now be broken. Some good info there, but no pics :(

I would suggest that people created themselves a photobucket account and host your own pics on them. It's easy and pics are resized and it's free and doesn't suck all fr33stylers bandwidth.

I would like to thank Fr33 for the use of his host to this point. Awesome service.

Jeff has also relocated to the UK, which might also be a factor.

Have the mods tried to contact him?

Aaah! Didn't know that MrBishi & Tomsun, that explains a lot.

Al, with regard to the broken links to pics, can we get the pics onto a disc or something then repoint the links (it'd be a huge job though)?
