No idea...But I love the speedo/lap timer/circuit map on the bottom of the screen. How does one set that up? It certainly makes circuit footage much more enjoyable! :D

Wantsom was just mentioning something like this today, its a GPS data logger that has a pen camera.

Many of the modern camera systems will integrate with modern ECU's, overlaying all that cool information on the footage. With GPS integration as well, it will know what track you're at and can give lap time information as well as all the usual stuff that your ECU can send to the camera system (RPM, gear selection, speed, etc)

Very clever stuff.

Love it!

Which ECUs are enabled for deal with such info and what's required on the GPS side of things.

May as well find out so I buy the right gear the first time, or at least ask the right questions when the time comes...

Yeah it looked like his brakes were either cooked or not up to standard in that video. You can definitely improve your lap times significantly in low power cars if you keep your average speed up.

I've had a brief look. Support is there for old Symbian phones & they're developing stuff for Android but those with iPhones (like me) will find it useless as Apple doesn't allow proper Bluetooth connections to external GPS.
Must read up some more, a solution somewhere in all of it will exist without spending megabucks on a dash logger. Thanks for the info Avandull.

You can also buy a device with the software installed on it with an external gps for $550 from roost industries.

I think they are good value. You can still export the racechrono file Via sd card and murge it with the video file from any camera

Avandull, yes I went to the Aussie site and saw that. Pretty good value and the other benefit...the dedicated GPS and Laptimer won't start ringing whilst you're on the track! :D

SK, I'm beginning to understand that...
