GSR-V for sale on Yahoo Japan

Post by JDSTAZ45 »

In case someone is interested, (Mainstream), there is a white GSR-V for sale on Yahoo Japan. Here's the link...
http://translate.google.co.in/translate ... l=ja&tl=en

Around $3K plus shipping and taxes (around $3-4K).

It's interesting that this unit does not have the climate control and may not have the rear ABS (from the description chart)...these were considered options!

I'd have to store it outside of country for two years. Our import laws state that it has to be at least 25 years old before it can be imported without having to meet emissions and crash standards. Which is rediculously expenxive to comply with, 7-10k dollars for inspections, fees, and conversion to US standards.

Hmm if your interested in a 2 liter narrow why not get one from Europe?

At least you won't have to worry about the steering being wrong for the side of the road your driving (and that can be a pain in the ass if you go to a drive through)
But I guess the real problem would be finding one that is 25 years old and not completely rusted.
In Holland 25 years is kind of the magic number as well as anything older then 25 years does no longer has to pay taxes (that are around 600 euro a year for a Starion weight car)

Mal, that car has a reserve price of around $3,500AUD plus another $1,300 for local (Japan) fees and charges. Ie approx $4,800AUD for FOB cost. Add Shipping, customs etc to get it landed here - approx $2,500 equates to a total landed cost of $7,300. And assuming that there is nothing wrong with the car, it will need compliance and registration.

Unfortunately, it isn't a cheap process.

Plus, isn't there already a GSR-V in Sydney that is for sale? :D

Well! In that case makes my red GSR-V a STEAL for $5500!!

All my 3 cars are worth keeping, however I need to concentrate on ONE and spend rest of the time on home renovations!

People who are interested in a widey are making a big mistake letting the Auto widey go. This could be a nice car with a few grand spent on it! Furthermore, I haven't seen one around at a good price for a while (Yahoo Japan that is!).
