Sway Bars

Does anyone know if the swar bars (excluding diameter) are the same between Narrowbody and Widebody? I.e. can you put widebody bars on a narrowbody and still have the end links reasonably vertical?

A set of Mookeeh's bars (25mm Front, 21mm rear) can be landed in NZ for about $430 which I think is quite reasonable.

He has just sent me the centre to centre eye hole measurements of the bars. 38" for the Front and 36" for the rear, the front measures the same as my narrowbody bar currently out so I'm guessin the back should match as well (will check on the weekend thou).

So think I might give them a go.

(Did subqequently find a story on starquest where a narrowbody user put Suspension Techniques Widebody bars on his narrowbody and he said they fitted fine).

Do they come with the D bushes? Without them you're screwed.

Yep both bars come with the D bushes.

I'm not sure if I would get away with twins without needing to get them certifed. Did think of it though until I saw the bars on ebay.

I asked this mob to give me a quote, but said it's too large for USPS. Which carrier are they using to post???

The reason I want these bars compared to the Selby ones you can get in OZ, is because of the size,
25mm front and 21mm rear AND because they provide bushes. The widey needs a thicker bar up front from experience!!
I think the 24mm and 22mm is a better setup for narrowbodies

Anyone actually have a photo of their twin sway bar setup? I'm still trying to get the idea of how you actually mount the second one. Alspos was also mentioning that he had a great way of making it so you could move it back/forward to adjust how much effect it had.

My engine builder is running a twin front bar on his capri racecar, i was having a look at it yesterday. Its just the single bar mounted in the standard way, with a 2nd bar attached to the 1st using alloy mounts, but not connected to the endlinks if you can picture that.
Il get a pic of it next week when i go and pick up my engine if anyones interested.

Cool, yeh wouldn't mind seeing how people mount them, the alloy mounts sound interesting, would like to see what they are so I can find out where to buy some or how to make some!

Yeh Alspos' twin sway bar arrangement looks great, sturdy and well designed (custom suspension rubber/plastic bushes made to join the two sway bars). Twin's look like a great idea for the Staz. I'll definitely be giving it a go.

I'm using 21mm brackets & bushes from 1981 Corolla; picked up 8 of each for around $30 at wreckers. Currently using bushes sourced from wreckers and the attachment is still very firm.

So far I'm happy with the results, but haven't done any track or rally work with this setup.
