HELP please: mitsubishi L300 Conversion distributor parts?

Post by bluestarion »

Hi Guys,
I did an L300 multipoint conversion some time ago. I used an optical type distributor from a DASH engine (I think - over 9 years ago).
Anywho I need to replace the rotor and cap but for the life of me can't find a replacement part.
The details I have are:
Rotor Cap T48372
Rotor - T205

Pic shows what it looks like.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Matthew

The looks like a stock starion dizzy cap to me, stock starion dizzy caps screw on, dash ones are clip on. The rotor underneath is the virtually the same even with a dash dizzy.

Stock Starion Dizzy

Post by bluestarion »

Maybe the perspective is a bit misleading.
I can confirm it is not a stock starion dizzy. The rotor cap is about 1/3 of the height of stock and it has an optical pick up.
But you are right about the clips on the DASH engine.
I am stuffed if I know where it's from then? I have had look in the Bosch books and there are a few that look similar based on a Mitsubishi ignition but in a Ford/Mazda.
I can take some more pics if that helps?

Does anyone have an idea what this is?

I had a similar dizzy in my gold car, i believe its from a L300. For the dizzy cap you can still use a stock starion dizzy cap. Doesnt matter if its optical or not. For the rotor, i've used both the smaller one and the larger one in my dash dizzy without a problem.

Just to confirm here is a pic of the two rotor caps you mention with one being 1/3 of the size of the other.

Thanks for the reply.
By chance I came across this on ebay

Was struggling to find the rotor and cap on the Bosch catalog though.....

IM glad you found them Matthew as I am about to put the l300 optical dizzy into my Starion soon and although Ive been told its in good condition [ which im sure it is ..at the moment ] I would say i would have had to replace it sometime in future and I would not be wanting to replace with my spare stock Starion one as it changes the type of system I want to run .

Ill be bookmarking that one

Cheers
