yes steve's car and mine both have 3 inch systems, both with cat's aswell, his is tucked up higher than mine, i "massaged" the floor of his slightly above the cat so it's as high as possible. his was under 100mm with the coil overs set where he had them, had to raise the car up so it can get a rwc..
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

the massaging was under the driver's seat, so it wouldn't be visible within the car eh?

I'm running into the same problem when trying to mount a resonator to get rid of the droning noise..
What would be the best way to massage the floor and how much can you get away with?
I'm guessing using a block of wood and a Big hammer.
Or is it better to just jack it up at the place you want dented?

xentro do you have a cat converter and a flex joint under there? have you made use of the recess under the driver's seat? mine and steve's cars have a small straight through oval muffler there, as well as a cannon type muffler right at the back.

I don't have a cat, but want to start out with a flex joint. I have a 625mm straight round muffler (125mm diameter) and a 320mm oval (140/220mm) split type muffler from Simons (Swedish )http://www.simons.se/Katalog/Universal76.htm )
I was hoping to stuff the 625mm somewhere between the front and back wheels, but also noticed the complete lack of space when I tried fitting.
Guess that is why when i build the first exhaust 7 years ago i only used 1 muffler at the back.. :(

what sort of "flex" do flex joints allow?
I guess i'm not really worried about the exhaust pipes or muffler being damaged - i'm more worried about the shock to the turbo/exhaust mani/engine when the pipes hit a speed hump or something..

I'd say you'll have some trouble getting the long muffler in...
But the split one will be a nice fit at the end!

thanks for the pics Robert. Did you just follow the contour of the original exhaust? From the look of things, you have the pipe going over the rear suspension arms instead of under?
