about bloody time

Post by smodgee »

after 6 years of owning a starion, two kids and buying of a business later, i finally did my first motorsport event, after getting the cars first audit, went thru with no problems but it still kept me up most of the night before wondering if i had missed something, it was just down the road from where i live we towed it down to the road that the bent sprint was held on but as i was pulling in to the road and braking for both cars i blew the rear right brake line, suppose it was the best time for it to happen, had a spare on the other car so went home and got it but being a different model it was a bit shorter but wasn't a hard fix, but with that i missed the first practice run, the event went well as i dint know how the car was going to go, it has a bit of a handling problem when i turn left hand corners is very tail happy it felt like it drop over on that corner or that the shock was getting stuck and then releasing, either way i really enjoyed the right hand corners and pushed as hard as i dared on the left, just going to swap the rear sub-frame from the other car with the suspension as i know that that car handles well, here are the results from the event http://www.hamiltoncarclub.org.nz/attac ... 0Final.pdf
I would Just like to thank all the contributors of this forum as it is the reason that my car is going :beer :beer so now off to the garage to start swapping stuff over

what does the # in front of people's name mean?

I see a Comma Door in the car listings? LOL and what's a Da Coon as well? haha

Can you describe how the classes are set?

yea had an awesome time it was the first time i had ever drivin a starion in anger and found it easy to drive at speed (besides above mention problem) looking forward to fixing and getting to the next event,
thrash i cant find the regs for this event but the # means dual drivers
and to my memory classes A 0-1300cc
b 1301-1600
c 1601-2000
d 4wd turbo
g 2001-3000
h 3000+
and as im 2000 turbo i have to multiply by 1.7 which makes me 3000cc + class and da coon is a falcon must be a club joke

Nice work mate, its always a great feeling completing a starion and then driving it competitively.
Starions are a disease, the only cure is poverty.
