FS [NSW] LSD

Post by thrash »

For sale: LSD

Condition: Will almost definately need a rebuild. very loose

Price and price conditions: 500

Extra Info (ie mods/history etc etc):
the hubs on the car are 4 bolt, but i haven't had a close enough look to see if it is a large or small diameter one. However, considering that I have the driveshafts etc as well, these can all be sold to the buyer as well, if required to fit the LSD. From what I know, it's 3.54 ratio.

Delivery & Conditions of Delivery: pickup in Sydney

3.54 is very rare to find in a "large" diff, so I'm thinking maybe this is a small diff.

A photo of the back and the under side around the sump plug would reveal it's identity.

How loose is it? Will the opposite wheel still spin the same direction when jacked up?

hmm, i thought small lsds were more rare than large ones? I will snap a pic tomorrow. I do apologise, i haven't had the time to do it before.. been on 4 hours sleep a night for the past week and a half.. not good for a person who's used to getting 10 hours a night lol (yes.. i'm verrry lazy at times)

when we had it up on the hoist, if you spin one wheel, the other will spin in the same direction.. but you can force the other wheel to stop spinning pretty easily by hand.. well.. the mechanic could.. i didn't try. maybe he's ulstra strong and you're getting a good condition half price lsd :P

Sorry, I just re-read my post and it's wrong. 3.54 is very rare in the small LSD's and more common in the large ones.

There's also a lot more large diffs around than small, so you're right, chances are, it's a large diff.

thrash... your undermining the value of LSD Starions by selling this so cheap!

Half the value of my JB is tied up in my LSD. LOL

nope, way more small diffs than large, all JA'a were small and most if not all JB's were aswell, lots of big diff lsd's comgin in from usa these days though. also 3.5's were the norm for small and large, 3.9 and 4.2's etc are yank only pretty much

weren't there more lsds in JBs and JDs though? And JD LSDs would all be 3.9 right?

This one is in a JA, and I haven't looked closely at the plate on the firewall to see if it was lsd optioned from factory.. I was too busy grinning at other stuff..

$300 to $500, is good price but could be more.
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?

JA never had lsd's from factory! you could tick the option box all you like but a an early shortage meant they never came with one. probably half the JB's had lsd's, 99% small type.

JD's had lsd standard, was a delete option though, and probably half of them were no lsd. JD were all big 3.9.
