thinking of cream leather interior?

g.day poeple. ive got a jb with the horrible red maroon interior,
i was thinking something different for a staz like cream leather..

has anyone done anything like this?

How often do you drive it? Cream will get dirty real quick and look like crap. What colour is the car?

nearly everyday. good point wont go with cream.
my cars white maybe blue will be nice

Check out some of the tan on black interiors that widebodies have...

The maroon interior can look fine as well with a black instrument dash pad, black steering wheel and some centre console touches!

The JD maroon interior is hideous compared to the JB one (IMHO)!!
Pimps and hairdresses love'em though!

I agree 100% Mal, the JB interior is much better than the JD one for sure. The JD interior in maroon looks like its a pimps lounge.

White and Maroon JB ....... NICE one brother:)

I know more than a few hate the maroon but I've learnt to LOVE my JB's maroon interior, though I never really hated it.

Try and appreciate the period/era correct beauty. Some years ago I watched a good mate destroy a nice original silver with blue interior sprinter because it looked too "old and 80's !?!?!". Subjecting it to a yellow leather and sprayed plastic interior and topped off with an orange body, I never got over that, the poor thing was practically in perfect original condition. Wish I'd saved that car from him now.........

Black leathers a good sugestion if you could get hold of the correct black factory plastics to match (which might be dificult), I don't think much of spraying plastic interior parts.

Each to his own i suppose. You don't have to love everything the 80s had to offer. Perhaps he wants the car but not the nostalgia.

But I must disagree with you about painting of interior plastics. I've painted interior plastics black before and they came out fantastical. Nice shine to them. I can guarantee you wouldn't be able to tell they were painted. The only thing that didn't work out was the dash shroud (the bit that goes over the speedo and tacho), and the reason for that was that it was majorly cracked and the paint just wouldn't stay nice around the cracks. Perhaps there was a way to do this that I don't know of, but that's my story anyway.

"to each his own" indeed. I've always believed that the person paying the bills on a car can do whatever they can afford. The opinions of others holds no authority what so ever.

Also wasn't trying to suggest that the maroon interior is too special to change.

My little story did get me thinking about a white Starion with navy blue interior, that's different (and 80's if retro's your thing), and would mean spraying plastic. What with the vast availability of blue silicone engine bay bits this colour scheme could make a well balanced look.

The problem I have with spraying plastic is durability, kick panels, consoles and keys swinging against steering column covers looks terrible all scratched up. Especially if you've sprayed maroon plastic cream or blue plastic yellow.

I don't mind the maroon in my JB at all.. Since the outside of the car is also maroon, it suits fine.. I went black because at that specific point in time, I could only get my hands on gloss black or a dull (but lighter) red.. so black it was.

yeah i might put some black into it like console, roof lining,dash, and carpet.. all i wanted was to brake up all that maroon.
