I actually ordered my JM to have 1&1/2 inches removed from the manifold runners to suit the cordia.
When it arrived the manifold didn't fit due to clearance issues.
The runners were all cut and 90 degree angles installed. This allowed the manifold to clear the heater hoses and the brake booster.
The welding is as or not better than the original, it will take 500 HP of NOS to break those welds, not to mention I have made over 400HP at the wheels.

The bellmouths, all 4, are milled out of the same 20(?)mm alu-sheat, and I can't realy imagine how something could fall of.... (JM-fab this is!)

This car started with a stainless exh manifold , which cracked .
And the intake manifold also cracked , would of been not to bad if it did not cost him a $15 grand eng .

I think the comment about thin manifold is refering to EXHAUST manifold (the Stainless Steel ones) they need to be reinforced etc as stainless is proned to cracking when exposed to vibration and fatigue (heating and cooling)
Intake manifolds are typically aluminium and have thicker walls. I doubt they would have any cracking issues.
I don't see how NOS would effect an intale manifold. Exhaust yes, due to the much hotter exhaust gas temps.

Nos backfire will take bonnets off as well as destroying intake manifolds
The exh mainifolds are made from thin wall exh pipe , thats why they crack , to help the exh manifold last longer they req a few braces from the head flange to the turbo flange to stop it bending as it gets hot .

The GTK looks a hell of a lot nicer...
