Manifolds

K, so what have you chaps done for manifolds? Keep in mind i'm using a GT35r or the Turbonetics equivelant. Haven't made up my mind yet.. Can get a 35r locally with warranty for $1600..
Also aiming for around the 500rwhp mark..

Intake i'm tossing up between JMF Race and Magnus Motorsports Street..

JMF - $593 USD.



Magnus Motorsports - $600 USD.



There's also a few others out there... But both of these come in a RWD application for no extra cost.


In ways of exhaust manifolds i want something decent. But don't want to pay around $1400 for a custom manifold.
So i'm going to buy a FWD one, extend the runners from the plate and flip it upside down. Add in some bracing and shazam.. I hope..

since you have a sigma you could low mount your turbo!
you can use any of those but you will need to change where the gate sits.

but saying that i will never use SS again it just doesnt last.
steam pipe all the way!!!

any of those inlet manifolds will be good but i have seen a Magnus Motorsports one and they look really good and i think that would be the way to go.
unless you make one your self.

Afaik it would get in the way of my alternator, oil pump etc etc..

do you have power steering?
the sigma boxers are smaller.

before i put my turbo on i was going to go low mount but it sat just too close to the power steering box and was going to use a fwd manifold just with the gate changed.
i have power steering and the pump is sitting under the inlet. so it was not in my way at all.

I got a used (never mounted tho) Jm-fab (RWD) from a guy who dumped his project... (and a Precision SC6162E all for around 1200AUD)
Looks good, but I think the Magnus MS looks even better!
Conserning the funktion I have no idea... the Jm plenum LOOKS like it has bigger volume, but I'm not sure it's so...
The "face-plate" for the TB on the Jm is big, will probably be able to fit a 90mm TB on it! Will make some mesurements tomorrow...

Ive got a magnus plenum and the quality is great the runners have bell mouths inside for better flow.

i bought a cheap eBay twin cam manifold and flipped it around by just cutting the corners of the mounting flange and doing an opposite upside down swap then re-welding them and also had to drill 2 new hole in the flange i just did it all so it lined up on the manifold gasket and it fit perfect on the head i had the extend and move the waste gate on mine also as it would not work in the spot it was in - hopefully that made sense.

with any of these manifolds your turbo will sit fairly high and also sit close to the valve cover so take that in to consideration also i wont be surprised when mine cracks as nearly all stainless manifolds do but when mine does ill pull it out and make a steam pipe replica.

There is no way you can low mount a 35r in a Sigma. Maybe a low mount with a stock turbo but that is about it. Myself and Wantsom run a Hypertune inlet manifold, but Ixnays Magnus is quite good quality also.

All those manifolds are shit , the intakes manifolds are to thin and crack , and also seen bellmouths fall off . The exh manifolds also just keep on cracking . At least when you buy a aussie made part you can always take it back , not throw it in the bin .

I have used the JM performance manifold on the cordia...........I like it, accept for the acoustics the manifold produces at idle, sounds like the engine is pinging.............rev the engine ............gone.

Had no problem with the stainless manifold............yet.

Re stainless cracking, they won't crack if you support them properly. Hence why i said we'll be welding supports everywhere. I'm going for function over looks here. But i also don't feel like spending $1600 on a custom manifold that hasn't been tested etc.

You're going on about intake manifolds cracking... Aussies make them out of the same stuff afaik.. I'm going to take the risk along with 80% of everyone else and get a mass produced product thats proven to work at over half the price.
