Power figure for standard 2L galant too high?

Post by enthuzed »

Is 148kw right for this, as it seems too high...This is a N/A engine as well. See advert:

Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?

Even the TT VR-4 was 170kW (240hp)

That SOHC 16V 4G63 has a massive 90kW for the general Aus/NZ export market.

Not even a 63
Looks more like a 93 or 94.

Massive conflicting info, me thinks picture are of wrong car.
stated 5sp manual when its an auto...

148kw would be about right if it had the 6a12 motor, which the vr4 did come with at one point.

It's spot on.

Probably not anymore after those KM's but it's the correct factory figure.

EXCEPT:

The figure only applies to the v6's. That one's a 4 banger and is about 93kw.

No it's a SOHC 4G63 16V. The 4G93 SOHC looks similar but is different still. The 4G94 didn't come out until the late 90s and was never mounted in that orientation as that 4G63 is.

The 6A12 is 176kW stock, not 148kW. There is no Aus spec 6A12TT VR-4, they all would be imports.
