ps the exhaust note is SERIOUSLY chubby inducing :)

i built a 3 inch mild steel mandrel bent system, with a catco metal cat, flex, small straight thru muffler mounted in the recess below driver's seat, and a xforce cannon same as mine on the back, mounted straight and tucked up as high as it would go...

it sounds angry, but not farty like it would without that centre muffler.

In Qld if the car came with a cat you can't delete it & if you replace the original motor with another type it must have a cat.My JB has been engineered and blue plated with the stroker, and all the twin cam mods :D
I've had mine since 03 07 92

side question.. did JDs come with cats?

and i wonder if it's the same in nsw, since the further south you go, the more stringent the state rules..

what if the replacement motor didn't come with a cat? do you still need to fit one?

yes

no. Generally need to fit all emmissions equipment that were fitted to the car of new motors origin. Can't fit an engine that is older than the car (ie can't fit a 60's V8 to a Starion).
There are exceptions to the rules - state in Aus, and LPG, but that is the gist.

you can actually fit an older engine to a newer car, but you have to fit all the emissions equipment necessary to make it pass the requirements of the newer car..

pics soon. steve took a few today when he came up.
