WTB :4G63 SOHC Timing cover seal set

Post by leoca »

I need a new set (of 3)
Every auto parts supplier I called dont have a listing for these. The part no I am told by them is JR 689, but its only a piece about a foot long.!

If anyone has a set or can help let me know .Cheers
ps I cant use the old ones as I accidently stepped on one and it broke into pieces anyway.

there's a seal?? I thought there wasn't really any oil around the timing belt, so you just bolt the covers back in place :S

No he's talking about the dust seal that goes around the plastic cover on the inside to help stop shit getting on the belt.

Ring Trav in spare parts at Knox Ralliart tomorrow. He'll get it for you at a good price. You can tell him Lorrie sent you if you really want.

i highly doubt they'd exist in the system anymore, as no one bothers replacing them, as unless you're contesting the paris-dakar there's really no need for them...
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

As I was saying, if you call trav he'll post it to you. All you need is a credit card and it'll arrive the next day.

Don't silicon it.

Actually, if you DO silicon it, use wurth (the grey shit) and put down a thick bead with it OFF the car. Let it dry so it's actually solid inside the tcover, then put the tcover on and it'll do much the same job as rubber.

Don't put it on wet, you'll hate your life.
