Nope, autronic say the ecu is perfect.. All thats left is some wiring to check over and the intake manifold.

Could be getting too much air into no.3 under high boost? Iunno.. Doesn't have them tubes coming into the actual plenum if that makes any difference.

Jeri can you post pics so we can have a good look at the plenum
Gary = Kit may have his inlet 4 sale so pm him
Can you get the inlet flow tested to see if the runner flows are similar and have the injectors tested as well
Cheers

OLD_Fart is right. Pull the intake off along with the Head and get it flowed together. I think you will find that the intake manifold needs porting to even the flow across all 4 ports.

Generally when you make a custom intake manifold, you would also get it flow tested before actually using it..

I'll get the inlet manifold tested.. But the car ran for about 6 years with the same inlet manifold. Then it killed no.3. Different head, same manifold, killed 3 again.

But don't worry, i'll be checking everything.

Jeri a similar plenum(for evos ) was tested by Baschur raceing with some strange results and was not reccomended.
My inlet was new from the joint useing 90deg mandrel bends so that they were spaced apart so they were not bunched tightly together. They also had semi bellmouths as well.
There seems to be a flow problem where it seems that the no 3 runner is not getting the same volume of air under hi boost and leaning out and detonateing no 3 cylinder
I don't have proof of this but am thinking logicly as the same problem has occured with both heads so it is reasonable to assume that the problem is not the heads but either air or fuel supply to no 3 cylinder

Yeah i agree with you there.

So its either the inlet plenum or something is up with injectors/ecu/wiring.

Any other theories would be appreciated :D

Also, anyone got a decent inlet for sale??

If you think number 3 is leaning out, get your injectors individually flow tested.

the inlet is fine , just remember that 3 and 4 need to be slightly more rich than 1 and 2 , thats the trick with these motors.

Scrapping the HX40w idea. Too laggy. Sold the 3076r yesterday. 99% settled on a 3582r with the .83 exh housing, external gate. Can get one new for $1599 with a year warranty...

Surecam is doing up some prices/info on some cams for me. Gunna be around the 300 mark duration wise.. Got some custom valvesprings coming from some valvespring wizz dude in mackay.
Tossing up between the JMF or the Magnus Motorsports intake manifold. Have no idea what exhaust manifold i'll be using...

And thanks to Rad my gearbox should hold up a little longer haha....

Might have to organise freight too Rad.. Some bitch in a 4x4 decided she didn't like the front end of my El Camino :(

Bent a lot of stuff underneath like rad support etc. Pushed bonnet into other guard. Inner guards on both side are plastic, they cracked....
Fully insured through shannons but meh, such a effing hassle now.
