Hi Guys, Up for sale is my old JB. It’s number 100. Colour is maroon over champagne two tone. It has a JA vented bonnet, and a JA front bumper. REGISTERED until march 2010.
The engine has a damaged crank, which will need to be replaced. That said, it was actually rebuilt 20-25 thousand kms ago, so almost a fresh engine. I can throw in a spare crank with the sale if you buy the complete car. Have receipts for valve work done to the car more recently, and also have receipts for 1100 bucks for a super heavy duty clutch, and also 700 bucks for ADR approved braided brake hoses. It has hilux 4wd high performance brake pads fitted at the front as well. It also has a braided clutch line fitted, courtesy of JD-Stazza-Brendan on the forums, and also has a fairly loud BOV. It has a straight through exhaust system, and I also have the cannon muffler that came with it, which I will happily include if wanted. It currently has a high flow-but quieter muffler fitted. Also has a loud BOV and a splitfire boostgauge, and a turbo timer – but the turbo timer is slightly warped from the strength of the sun on a particularly hot summer day. Still works perfectly though. Car also has colourful white face gauges. Car also has remote central locking and immobilizer/alarm system. Drag link has also been redone – this has eliminated the tram-lining that used to happen before.
The roof lining has several tears on it, and I have a good one that has been freshly painted black by me, which I will throw in with the sale. The centre console was also freshly painted black, with the radio surround painted silver. The passenger’s door trim has some issues.
I have lost the gearknob, so that will be missing from the car.
Please note the car is currently NOT running. It was running prior to me finding the crank problem, but I have not run the car since then. Also, I must warn you that the Alternator charges at no more than 13.8 volts now, and TBI injection does leak a bit (it is the JB type 2 injection), and the turbo seems to have some play. Car did not blow any smoke, however. It was always run on Mobile performance oil 10W-60
Looking for 1500 ono. I will include a freshly painted roof lining to replace the torn one, spare crank, and also a stock VR4 intercooler.
If you take it away as it is for the asking price of 1500, then I will also throw in a pioneer head unit and set of pioneer 6x9s. Both are brand spanking new and cost me 600 bucks, but bought a long while back – never installed, only tested to ensure they are working. The head unit has a detachable face and hard case for it, and the speakers are 4 way, 440 watts. I realise I will never install a sound system in a starion, so I have no need for them.

I just want to remind anyone considering buying it, that it IS regaristered until march 2010, so you can easily re-register it and continue to drive it. I would much prefer that it doesn’t get parted out, but of course I no longer have a say in that once it leaves my hands eh.
The crank is an easy fix for the somewhat mechanically minded - take the motor out, get the crank professionally put in, put motor back in, and you have a working car. The rest of the motor is only about 20k to 25k kms old.

the guy i bought it from said there was an LSD, but I would say there is NO LSD. A while back I was driving in the rain and one of my rear tyres was more worn out than the other, and it kept slipping while the other one seemed to not slip as much, so i concluded there is no LSD.

did that too a while back.. wheels spin in opposite direction = concluded no lsd again. Although, i've been told that none of these are a surefire way to tell if it's an lsd, as worn out ones will act like open diffs? is there any truth to this?

come on guys, easy fix and drive away..
That's a LOT of shit for the money..
- REGISTERED car - rego til march..
- A good crank and crank pulleys - this is all you need to get the car running again
- Rest of the engine is only 20-25 thousand kms old!
- EXEDY hd clutch
- ADR approved braided brake lines on all corners - red in colour
- high performance 4wd hilux brake pads front
- extra roof lining - freshly painted black
- braided clutch line from gb by jd_stazza_brendan
- PIONEER head unit and 440watt 6x9 speakers
- VR4 intercooler
like i said, a lot of stuff for the price.. the braided brake lines alone cost 700.. them and the brake pads only saw a couple of months usage.
