gday im after a 2.4 crank to stroke my narrow block twincam with , im in brissy so looking at buying something locally if i can .

7 bolt or 6 bolt?

You'll need main caps as well in either case. It's a lot of work to get them to line up I think?

No the main caps have to be the ones that come with the motor .If you have to use them fron another motor then you will have to get it line bored = $$$$

Well, In a narrowblock I know you can't just drop in a 64 crank for a fact.

I would imagine the wideblocks wouldn't be much different, but good luck!

Also, yes lineboring = omfgwalletrape.

Can you explain why not ??? in a 6 bolt the rods, bearings and centres are exactly the same in both 63 & 64 blocks

Find a 6 bolt crank :)

I was assuming he was putting a 7 bolt 64 crank in a 6 bolt block as 6 bolt cranks are something like finding needles in haystacks... or flying pigs... or pink elephants etc.

In narrow block /wide block 6 bolts 6 bolt 64 cranks are no problems
Eagle have a 94 &100 mm stroker forged cranks if $$$ are no probs :D

im plannng on using cp or je pistons which are made for the 100mm stroke then a set of manely I beam rods , yes its going into a 6 bolt . i had the motor stripped down after some bad comp readings and 2 broken pistons were found caused from pinging the dam thing only had 3k on it so ive decided to go stroker which was what i orginally wanted to do but didnt have the funds at the time

I would highly suggest a forged crank rather than a reco'ed 2ndhand unit.

BUT $$$.

Also, is your block ok after two dead pistons? Have you had it xrayed? Did it damage the bores very much?

And use H beams, not I beams. I beams are a massive waste of money in a 4 cyl. Unless you plan to rev to the moon but you've stroked it, so that limits your revs to about 7300-7500 as well.

Twincam head I'm assuming. Running 272's or 280's in cams?
