Re-built Twincam

Post by avandull »

After Deternation cracked my pistons due to too much ignition timing, I rebuilt the motor stronger. So after great expense it is running very well again. The Cheap ebay turbo expired again,so a purchased a new KKR430 which I am very happy with. The clutch was slipping, so I replaced it with a new Exedy heavy duty clutch. Arias pistons, Eagle rods, ARP mains and head studs, ACL race series main and big end bearings. With correct tuning it should be reliable. Here are some pics.

I would be interested to see how the kkr performs with the twin cam, post some dyno pics after you get it done :)

It starts making boost at 2500RPM. Very easy to drive. I will post some Dyno charts when I get it done.

Here are some dyno results. I need to get rid of the boost spike and turn up the boost a bit.

The Haltech ECU has a open loop boost controller built in. So the pressure solenoid connected to the waist gate is the boost control solenoid. I struggle with much more boost, the new excedy clutch starts to slip.
