which spark plugs and is it hard?

is it hard to change spark plugs (i have the tool), and also which type should i use in my starion..?

NGK Iridum TX - there is no Starion listing, so go for a VR4 listing or similar, 4G63 turbo. If you don't want to be different, just grab the NGK Starion listings.

The only prick is really the fact the air pipes and turbo kinda get in the way a bit with your arms tools etc. Id recommend a large tool extension,

I'd say it was more difficult on a Starion than many other cars, however its still easy.

Torque settings on sparkplus are meant to be pretty important aswell... I dont have a torque wrench however. You dont want to absolutly wind them up in there as tight as you can, as you can damage the head. Just nip em up. I Used NGK BPR7ES in my starion, with a gap of 1mm, found them excellent. Iridium's are probably better if you can afford em tho :)

If you are gonna use standard ones get something like a NGK BCPR6ES or similar, and if you are running higher boost then just close the gap on them a little to about .8mm using feeler gauges. The R in the code is just a resistorbuilt in, not always necessary. When you take the old ones out check them to see if they are black, brown or grey. Black means its running rich, brown is fairly good and anything lighter is running too lean or wrong fuel. Its a pretty good indicator of how efficient ur car is running.

my car is all STOCK except for the exhaust and BOV. so am pretty good to get those NGK BCPR6ES or NGK BPR7ES? they sound very similar.. how much are they around?

do i really need a torque wrench to change em over? or should i bring my car to someone with a torque wrench? OR am i right in just not overtightening them?

No u dont need a torque wrench, just dont do them up FT. Firm is good, kinda like ur turning the outside tap off tight. The number in the code for the plugs is the temp rating. Either the 6 or 7 will do. They are a few dollars each, u can get them from any auto retailer. they come in single packs, not in 4 packs.

its a peice of cake, just make sure not to cross thread the plug, an not to over do it with tightening. oh an make sure you put them in when the engines cold, as turbo an manifold sit right there...gets really hot
