I've been pulled over heaps...

My biggest fine was $480. About 9 years ago. Foreshore Drive Botany...

The cop pulled me over and I got out of the car and waited for him to walk over. He says, going a bit fast wern't you?
I said, was I? He said 112 in a 70 zone.... I said are you sure? Cos I was only in third gear.... He just looked at me and said give your licence.

He wrote me up and said gezz your lucky. I said I don't feel too lucky. He said another 4km/h and the fine would have been over a grand, 6 points and 6 month suspension.

I was still accelerating when I spotted him in my rear view mirror.

Got pulled over without my P plates a year or two back and was going to get done for not having them up - instant loss of P license. Eventually after enough sweating me the cop (who was scottish - so read it like a scot is saying it) goes 'Ye got any paper? Alright, ye're gunna take that piece o' paper, an' ye gunna take this 'er pencil, an' ye're gunna wait till i turn around... Then ye're gunna draw as big a P as ye can and put it in ye front windscreen...'

I did as i was instructed when he had turned his back, 15 seconds later he turns around and says 'Alright, what we got here... O'! Only one P up 'ey? That's gunna a mean a fine, ye know...'

Wrote me up for only having one P plate. Sure i got a $130 fine, but i kept my license! :D

Friends call me Ashgan or Ash... But you can call me failchanic. If there's a routine maintenance job that exists on a starion, then chances are i've failed at it.

First attempt fails include:
-Changing indicator light
-Changing spark plugs
-Changing belts
-Changing airfilter
-Changing oil
-Removing rear strut
-Replacing front strut

got pulled over in my bright yellow twin turbo Z32 300ZX after being tailed for 15 mins, and first thing the cop says is" Nice car mate, when did you get it. . " had a good chat to him for about 20 mins during which he called me a pussy for having not having any mods done to the car.

Many years ago before most of you were even thought of Rad, Mal, etc excluded I was driving up the M4 going to Jenolan Caves with my girlfriend ( now my wife of 23 years ) in my Ford Cobra. Pouring rain and doing 160km/h. Looked in my mirror and saw a cop with lights blazing chasing me. Pulled over and had a great chat about top speeds of his commodore. I told him mine would do about 200 " Thats about right he said, mine does about the same" anyway he was going to let me go but couldnt because he had already radiod in that he was chasing me. He kindly dropped it down to the lowest fine. Not exceeding the limit by more than 15 km/h. Ive been let off, lowered my fine etc many many times by being polite, respectful and not carrying on like a pork chop. they are holding all the cards and it is in our interest to be as nice as we can be.

Sunday night 11:31 I got pulled, not speeding 49kph, not too noisy, no alcohol involved apparently the issue was the cop felt I was driving antisocially

how exactly do you drive "antisocially"?

i suppose it makes sense that he pulled you over then.. what better way to solve that problem than a bit of socialising with the copper eh?

3(4! maybe 5!) years ago when I was driving back from adelaide to ballarat in the dead of night (like 2am) I was in my GVR4 and decided to (being stupid p plater at the time) pretty much wind it off the clock and keep it there.

So being japspec the clock stops at 180. My rev gauge sat at about 5800 rpm in 5th which according to gear ratio calcs is like 230ish. Sat on that from Tailem Bend to Stawell where a vic copper FINALLY pulls me up in a 60 zone.

We have a mad chat about the car and how it was completely stock (11psi boost that's it... lots of suspension work). Cop says he'll have to buy one for his son, do I know where I can get one... I told him I founded Team4g and hand him a business card. He gives me a fine for 104 in an 80 zone and tells me there's no other cops on the road between him and ballarat.... I find out in the next 45 minutes that he was right! and make it home from adelaide in 3 hrs and 35 minutes including time talking to the nice cop. The cop clocked me at some retardedly high speed, I probably should've gone to jail or something really.

Joys of 3am?

EDIT: The cop ended up picking up a red one. Never really became a forum regular but was a member for a long time.

Due to my speedo not being accurate due to changing the diff ratio, I regularly use my GPS as a speedo. Was coming through a small Victorian country town last weekend & had the GPS speed steady on 60KMh, when the red & blue began flashing in my mirrors. I pulled over to be told that I was doing 63KMh, & received a $234 fine. I'm not happy.

DONT TRUST GPS SPEEDO'S :x :x :x :x

63 in a 60 zone....fight it. Keep fighting it. Waste their time and make them work for their money if they book you for shit like that.
