DASH engine...

Post by Ashgan »

Hey guys, was just wondering if anyone can spill some information/specs of the Sirius DASH engine? I've been trying to look into it more online but can only find bits an pieces.

Stuff like:
Does the DASH head have multipoint injection? Or is it single point ECI like the stock JA setup?
What sort of power have people been able to make on the stock DASH engine?
Difference between the Cyclone variant and normal variant?
And anything anyone else can tell me about it.

There was a 16 valve DASH head for a galant wasn't there?

Friends call me Ashgan or Ash... But you can call me failchanic. If there's a routine maintenance job that exists on a starion, then chances are i've failed at it.

First attempt fails include:
-Changing indicator light
-Changing spark plugs
-Changing belts
-Changing airfilter
-Changing oil
-Removing rear strut
-Replacing front strut

Throttle-body injection, similar to JB/JD I would say

Stock is 147kW (200PS), so perhaps upwards of 200kW is possible with the usual larger turbo, bigger intercooler/piping and exhaust. As with the rest of the Starions the TBI is the limiting factor

Nope, just the badging. The Cyclone DASH ones are found in the FWD E15A Galant and Eterna VR sedans.

Nope.

Think the difference was which factory they were made in. I had a Japanese Eterna VR Hardtop and it came factory with the Sirius Dash, OZ = Cyclone? Not sure on that one but remember reading it somewhere.

Also the ecu controls the ign rather than having a mechanical dizzy. Injection could be staged instead of batch fire. Nothing off the shelf is available to mpi it. You activate the additional valves by taking away power from the seloniod.
Starions are a disease, the only cure is poverty.

I had the same car, sirius dash Eterna, as soon as I saw a Starion with the same sticker( Sirius Dash 3x2) i bought one, there were many more parts available then though.
It went real good for what it was but I think the 200ps is bs though but thats just me, maybe the fwd ones were less powerful?

I read twice that the Cyclone ones were rated for more torque. BS?

So the DASH head is single point injection?
