Flywheel Bolts

Post by iXNAY »

hey,

i went to auto place this arvo and they told me you cant buy mitsubishi flywheel bolts anymore!

is this true?

where is everyone getting flywheel bolts from if they need them?

would high tensile bolts from a bolt shop be good enough?

yeh. i'd like to know too. they are a pain. you strip them very easiely. i spent today removing and replacing them on my engine. had to swap clutch and flywheel before dropping it into my car. . i had to pick the best 6 out of the 12 i had. . so i'd like to know too. .

ANYONE KNOW LOL????

Are you talking about the pressure plate bolts? If you are stripping the flywheel bolts you are doing something majorly wrong!!

^^ good call... if it is just the bolts for the clutch, I used a set of high tensile ones (gold in colour) from repco. You see them in lots of places in a plastic packet.

TOMSUN - Do yourself a favour and find your local bolt shop. You will get real high tensile bolts (gr10) in black steel for sweet FA. All the sizes and lengths of the rainbow.

I agree with going to a specialist fastener shop.
Get better quality bolts at stupidly low cost. Much cheaper then buying 5 or 6 bolts in a pack for 10 bucks.
I bought 100 316 stainless allen head bolts for around 30 bucks.

Even better when you use the work account and get their discount :D
-JA Starion with JD bits , Forged engine, Heaps of mods (parked up)
-BFII XR6 Turbo Ute , Here comes 400hp for 2k :p
-77 Mazda 323 drag car. 13bt rotary project.

Yes i have too many toys.
